If Hoyer plays like he has for the last month its not going to be a very happy home crowd.Brownsouthnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3800694504837785724.post-71589798301236510982014-12-03T09:18:33.166-07:002014-12-03T09:18:33.166-07:00So noted, Southie. The Browns arguably could have won at least two of the games against Jax, Houston and Buffalo with better production from the quarterback.richpassannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3800694504837785724.post-90968613533438395122014-12-03T08:08:11.143-07:002014-12-03T08:08:11.143-07:00It sounds like Hoyer is a team player, but only if...It sounds like Hoyer is a team player, but only if it is still "his" team. Hoyer's W/L record has gone to his head. He is delusional. By acting this way now, he has all but stamped his ticket out of Cleveland. The only way he returns is if no other team wants him as a backup. richpassannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3800694504837785724.post-43619056544867018082014-12-02T14:32:23.247-07:002014-12-02T14:32:23.247-07:00I agree that Hoyer was given enough rope to hang h...I agree that Hoyer was given enough rope to hang himself and he's got no one to blame but himself. If he was just an average qb we'd be 9-3 at least. And Hoyer's comments that its "his job" and his record is 10-5 or something like that is just sickening to hear. Its sour grapes. That does not sound like a mentor to me. I was hoping Hoyer would re-sign for a reasonable fee and be content to share the job when needed and mentor Johnny. But it sure doesn't look to me that Hoyer's around for the long haul.Timpikernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3800694504837785724.post-63075830751476544542014-12-02T12:19:03.950-07:002014-12-02T12:19:03.950-07:00Hi DW,

Not certain whether Glenn Winston dressed for the game, but if he had, that would have been a perfect time to see what he could do if Crowell needed a blow.richpassannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3800694504837785724.post-79636546720777165632014-12-02T09:47:35.458-07:002014-12-02T09:47:35.458-07:00Crowell was temporarily benched when he displayed ...Crowell was temporarily benched when he displayed fumble-itis. He learned his lesson and has been much more secure with the ball since then. Hopefully a game on the bench will help West learn that same lesson - if you want to play here, you need to hold onto that ball!

DWAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3800694504837785724.post-62610062552883279482014-12-02T08:14:31.884-07:002014-12-02T08:14:31.884-07:00I don't think Hoyer is being realistic with re...I don't think Hoyer is being realistic with regard to his performances the last month or so. His ego had been damaged and he doesn't know how to handle it.

As for West/Crowell, both are suspect with ball security, but Crowell is much more of a threat to rip off a big gain. He finds and hits the hole much quicker, is faster and harder to bring down.

The fact the Browns are even in a position of talking about the playoffs is somewhat remarkable considering how relatively poorly they have played since week six. I think the loss of Alex Mack has had a profound effect on the offense.

As for Manziel, I'm looking forward to how he can change the offensive philosophy fans have been stuck with all these years. He's very different. And if he s Pettine's choice, he'll have his ups and down. Don't expect him to come in and play as if he's been doing this for years.richpassannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3800694504837785724.post-68122733054854394662014-12-02T07:41:48.417-07:002014-12-02T07:41:48.417-07:00The big question is can Hoyer actually be a mentor...The big question is can Hoyer actually be a mentor? Based on recent statements, I don't think his ego can handle the demotion and this definitely won't be another Danielson/Kosar relationship. As far as fumbles, what makes West any worse than Crowell? They're both bad at ball security and I seem to remember a lot more costly Crowell fumbles than West. As far as playoffs, if you can't beat the teams you're supposed to beat, you don't belong in the playoffs. Give "Johnny F" the rest of the year to get ready for next year. Its got to happen sooner than later.Brownsouthnoreply@blogger.com
